How does SLM work?

A laser melts metal powder in the places where your part is to be created. The printer builds up the design layer by layer. This is followed by the removal of supports and the agreed post-processing.

Which parts suit SLM?

SLM is an option for metal prototypes and parts with shapes that are difficult to make in one piece. Send your design and tell us what the part should do. We will look with you at the implementation and the points that require attention.

Select metal

The correct metal type depends on use, load and environment. State your preference or ask for advice. We record the chosen version in the quotation, so that you know which part you are having made.

Fits and post-processing

A printed metal surface is not smooth by itself. Indicate holes, threads and connection surfaces that must fit accurately. We discuss what post-processing is required and include this in the price and planning.

Discuss your design

Include dimensions, quantity and your preferred delivery date. We will advise on the process and provide a quote for your project.
