You can provide an existing 3D file or first discuss how to have an idea or object developed. Indicate what you use the result for; that helps with the choice of technology and material.
1. Choose your starting point
Do you have an STL, OBJ, STEP or 3MF file? Open the customer portal to submit your design. If you don't have a file yet, describe your project. For an existing object 3D scanning be a possible first step.
2. Determine application and dimensions
Note the dimensions and quantity. For a suitable part, indicate which surfaces or holes connect to other parts. Describe stress, heat or moisture associated with use. For a scaled model, the purpose and the desired level of detail are important.
3. Discuss material and finish
| Technology | Discuss this option before | Please note |
|---|---|---|
| FDM | A part or prototype in plastic. | Visible printing layers and the direction in which the part must absorb force. |
| SLA | A model with fine details in resin. | The selected resin, support and post-processing determine the suitability. |
| SLS | A plastic part with a complex shape. | Discuss the surface, the dimensions and the type of powder chosen. |
| MJF | Nylon parts and small series. | Discuss material, fit and finish. |
| SLM | Metal prototypes and complex parts. | Include supports and finishing of connecting surfaces in the design. |
| WJP | Full-color resin figures and presentation models. | A model with color information; discuss use and color expectations. |
The table helps you choose. We assess material, dimensions and load capacity for your design before you order.
4. Check the quotation
Check whether the quantity, version, any design work and finish match your request. Discuss what is included in the price and what shipping costs apply.
5. Agree on the schedule
Lead time depends on your file, material, quantity and finish. We confirm the schedule with your quote. For custom projects such as scale models, we discuss design and production time separately.
